Where it all started
In memory of Enrique Rey Armendáriz Ávalos, whose passion and dedication shaped what we now proudly call Romasa. His legacy remains one of his greatest achievements, a company he lovingly referred to many times as his "fourth child."
From its humble beginnings as a versatile mechanical workshop, Rodillos y Maquinados (ROMASA) has evolved to become a leading manufacturer in the gravure printing industry. Founded in Mexico, ROMASA is the result of the vision, passion, and determination of Enrique Rey Armendáriz Ávalos, who, driven by a desire to secure his family's future, decided to start his own company.
In 1970, Engineer Enrique Rey Armendáriz Ávalos was inspired to leave his job as a pneumatic equipment salesman to pursue entrepreneurship. Initially establishing a versatile mechanical workshop, he quickly shifted focus, formally founding Rodillos y Maquinados in 1975, specializing exclusively in gravure cylinder manufacturing.
From its humble beginnings, ROMASA rapidly evolved into a leader in the gravure industry, specializing in manufacturing gravure printing cylinders. Today, the company offers a wide array of services and products, including customized steel bases, maintenance, galvanic processes (chrome and copper plating), and specialized engraving technologies provided by industry leader Hell Gravure Systems, as well as advanced prepress solutions such as Extended Color Gamut (ECG or Heptachrome).
